Kevin was born in the small village of Waterhead, Oldham in 1949.
Waterhead, at that time, was dominated by cotton mills, where many hundreds of people were employed. On leaving school he served an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer. He is now semi-retired after running his own engineering business for over 30 years.
He is a self-taught artist, having had no formal art training, but from a young age has been interested in art, and has been a keen collector of northern contemporary artwork for many years.
He has started to paint his childhood memories of working people and their environments, in a naive style with crisp lines and vibrant colours. This creates warm, unique pictures that capture the times of the northern textile industry. He started painting originally for his own pleasure, but has quickly found an enthusiastic audience for his work.
He now has paintings in collections in the UK, Europe, USA and the Far East.
